Head Greenkeeper
An excellent opportunity has arisen at Ilfracombe Golf Club for a committed and enthusiastic Head Greenkeeper to join our existing Greens team.
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ilfracombe Golf Club boasts one of the most spectacular locations in the Southwest for an exhilarating round of golf.
Reporting to the Committee and Club Secretary, the successful candidate will be expected to help maintain the course to the highest standard in line with the Club’s Golf Course Policy and with exciting development plans in progress, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to showcase their current skills and attributes as well as developing new ones. There are also excellent career progression opportunities.
The Role:
- Full time position 40 hours per week within a flexible work pattern.
- Weekend/Bank Holiday work on a rota basis.
- 28 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays.

The Candidate should have:
- Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent sports turf qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ green keeping experience.
- Able to safely operate a wide range of golf course machinery.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team but who can work under their own initiative.
- PA 1, 2 & 6 Spraying Certificates (essential).
- Chainsaw Certificates (Desirable but not essential).
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
